SAFARI Montage® Pathways SM™ Selective Video Streaming Managed Live Streams
SAFARI Montage® Selective Video Streaming (SVS) allows district administrators to manage which video-based resources are accessible to teachers and students, ensuring that only appropriate content reaches the classroom and that bandwidth consumption is controlled. Rollover hot spots for feature descriptions.
Stream
- Pre-selected Internet URLs with video appropriate for the classroom, such as NASA.org
- Pre-selected cable TV channels appropriate for the classroom (requires consent from cable provider)
- Live video from digital cameras – such as live school news
A Digital TV Cost-Cutting Solution
Now that the Digital TV transition has occurred, equip your school district with the SAFARI Montage Selective Video Streaming solution. Run DTV over your data network for a better approach to visual instruction. Using SAFARI Digital Transcoders, the need to upgrade an aging network with taps, amplifiers, end devices and tuners is eliminated. Expensive set-top boxes or converter boxes are also unnecessary, making this a cost-effective solution to the required DTV conversion.
The SAFARI Montage Selective Video Streaming (SVS) module is ideal for managing Cable TV IP feed and controlling access and distribution of the channels over the districts’ data network. An article published on October 24, 2008 in eSchool News addressed some of the issues that school districts would likely face who have infrastructure based on an analog TV delivery model. With SVS, new schools no longer need Coax/RF networks, as the projected screen now takes the place of the TV monitor.
